File Shortcut

The Create Shortcut process allows users to create quick access to files or folders. A shortcut provides a direct link to the target file or folder and allows access without changing the location of the original file or folder. This process can be performed from the right-click menu of the file or folder in DM Explorer or from the top menu.

File Shortcut Creation

  • In DM Explorer, select the file or folder you want to create a shortcut for.
  • Click Create Shortcut from the top menu or the right-click context menu.
  • The shortcut will be added to the folder containing the file or the target folder. The shortcut allows access to the same file or folder from a different location.
  • After the shortcut is created, the file or folder can be quickly accessed via the shortcut.
  • The Create Shortcut process does not affect the original content of the file or folder. It simply creates a link pointing to the target file or folder.
  • A shortcut can only be created by users with viewing or access permissions.
  • A shortcut is not a physical copy of the original file or folder; it is simply a link. Any changes made to the original file or folder will be reflected in the shortcut.
  • When a shortcut is deleted, only the link is removed; the original file or folder is not deleted.
